Nets finish off Jazz
The New Jersey Nets put the game in Richard Jefferson's hands and he did not disappoint.
Jefferson made a running jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining to give the Nets a 117-115 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz on Saturday night.
"On that situation, you want to win the game or put it into overtime," said Nets coach Lawrence Frank. "Richard had a great time, great attack, and he didn't settle. It was a phenomenal finish and you have to give him a lot of credit."
Carlos Boozer equaled his career high with 41 points for Utah.
Jefferson led the Nets with 27 points and Vince Carter scored 25.
Magic 122, Pacers 111: Maurice Evans and Keith Bogans were a combined 11 of 14 from the field, including 5-for-6 on 3-pointers in host Orlando's victory over Indiana.
Celtics 99, Bucks 77: Boston managed an easy victory without one of its three stars, beating host Milwaukee as injured guard Ray Allen sat in a suit at the end of the bench.
Kevin Garnett scored 19 to lead the Celtics. Charlie Bell scored 16 to lead the Bucks, who have lost five straight and eight of their last nine.
Sixers 103, Spurs 96: Andre Miller scored a season-high 32 points, and Andre Iguodala had 25 to lead host Philadelphia to its its third straight victory with a win over San Antonio.
Wizards 119, Clippers 109: Down by 4 points with seven seconds to play against one of the worst teams in the NBA, Washington somehow found a way to win.
Los Angeles, starting its 29th different lineup of the season and fresh off losses of 22 and 24 points, led most of the second half. When Corey Maggette hit 2 free throws for that 4-point lead, Antawn Jamison had to take over.
Jamison scored 36 points, including 3 key free throws to send the game into overtime.
He hit a 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds left to cut the Clippers' lead to 98-97. Tim Thomas answered with 2 free throws to make it 100-97. Jamison, poised to take a potential game-tying 3-pointer, was fouled by Cuttino Mobley, and made all 3 to tie the score.
