Will we see some apologies now?
I've been following the interesting domestic battery case concerning Paul Humpher and his wife.
I see justice has prevailed and that Paul Humpher was found guilty of beating his wife. He will be sentenced on April 10.
The March 6 Daily Herald article mentioned Village President Bill Sarto brought to light another domestic incident Paul Humpher was involved in 18 months prior to the 2007 spring election campaign in the village.
I remember numerous stories being printed and allegations thrown about by trustees (I do believe Judy Sigwalt protesteth too much) and the media that Sarto was bringing up the issue to sway the public opinion for the upcoming election. Dirty politics, some people were calling it.
Well, it appears Sarto was just trying to do the "right thing." All he did was notify the authorities of Humpfer's past behavior.
I wonder if apologies owed to Village President Bill Sarto from the media and trustees will come as quickly as the stones that were thrown at him a year ago.
Thanks again, President Sarto, for doing the "right thing."
