Judson softball wraps up Arizona trip

The Judson University softball team finished its spring break trip to Arizona with a 6-4 record as it dropped its final two games of the Tucson Invitational to Jamestown College and Missouri Valley College Friday.

The 6-4 start is Judson's best ever under fourth-year coach Becky Bruns.

Jamestown College 5, Judson 0: Judson was shut out in its first game of the day. Aimee Ewert suffered the loss in 5½ innings of work.

Nicole Dimiceli and Kristin Krueger each had 2 hits for Judson and Dimiceli recorded a stolen base.

Missouri Valley 9, Judson 6: Missouri Valley held off Judson in the final game of the Tucson Invitational. Lizzy Jacobson pitched the entire game for the loss and had 4 strikeouts.

Krueger and Rachel Pope had 2 hits apiece and Krueger added a RBI. For the Eagles Debra Leganski and Dimiceli each drove in runs as well.

Judson will host Calumet College at 4 p.m. on Monday at the Elgin Sports Complex in CCAC play.
