Son charged in mom's murder
A 35-year-old Carol Stream man was charged today in the murder of his mother, police said.
Robert R. Lyons of 222B Klein Creek Court was charged with one count of first degree murder for allegedly stabbing his 61-year-old mother, Linda R. Bolek, to death Friday afternoon.
Carol Stream Police Chief Rick Willing said the incident stemmed from an argument between the two. Willing said he could not comment on a possible motive, however.

Police aid they were called to the apartment Lyons and Bolek shared on Klein Creek Court at 3:17 p.m. Friday for a possible domestic situation.
Willing said they got a call from someone in the apartment who said he might be agitated and that he needed to be checked on.
When they arrived, police said they found the apartment unlocked and Bolek lying on the kitchen floor having suffered multiple stab wounds.
The DuPage County coroner's office conducted an autopsy today, but would not release the results.
Carol Stream police immediately put out an alert to surrounding law enforcement Friday to be on the lookout for Lyons.
Shortly before 9 p.m., police said they tracked Lyons to a Hooters restaurant at 1705 E. Golf Road, near the Woodfield Shopping Center in Schaumburg. He was arrested without incident, Willing said.
Lyons is being held at the DuPage County jail in Wheaton pending a bond hearing Sunday morning.
