Man charged in multiple Arlington Heights burglaries

A Rolling Meadows man has been arrested for a string of Arlington Heights burglaries, police said Friday.

Aaron McMahon, 19, of 2507 Park St., was charged Thursday with three counts of residential burglary, police said.

Police said the arrest comes after a recent rash of burglaries over the past several months in the village.

According to reports, Arlington Heights police began questioning Murphy about the burglaries after being tipped off during an unrelated arrest.

Friday night, police could not provide specific information on when or where the burglaries occurred, only that coins, tools and electronics were stolen. None of the items have been recovered.

Police said McMahon told them he committed the burglaries to help support his cocaine habit.

McMahon is being held on $10,000 bond.
