Factory workers fall ill at Unilever plant in Franklin Park
Several people were taken to area hospitals after complaining of feeling sick while working at a Franklin Park factory Thursday night.
While it is still unclear what caused the workers to get sick, Franklin park fire officials said it may have been caused by a faulty forklift inside the Unilever Foodsolutions factory at 9353 Belmont Ave.
The incident occurred about 6 p.m. Officials could not confirm exactly how many people were taken to area hospitals; however, they said none appeared to be suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The plant was closed for a brief time, but fire officials said it was back open by 9 p.m. The incident remains under investigation.
