Cook County commissioner's son sentenced in DUI
A Cook County judge has sentenced Marko Peraica, the 27-year-old son of Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica, to 30 days in jail for a drunken driving conviction stemming from a 2004 traffic accident on Chicago's Kennedy Expressway.
Associate Judge Domenica Stephenson handed down the sentence Thursday against Peraica, who was found guilty in October of driving under the influence.
The elder Peraica is the Republican candidate for Cook County State's Attorney.
Officials say the younger Peraica, who lives in Riverside, has a lengthy history of arrests for burglary, curfew violations and other charges
