Community group protests meeting over mortgage lending crisis

Nearly a hundred members of a community organization group were escorted by police out of a meeting of the Mortgage Bankers Association at a Chicago hotel.

The activists are demanding changes in the mortgage lending industry.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, has brought in people from all over the country to protest at the convention.

ACORN spokeswoman Valerie Coffin says today's protest is part of a national campaign to reform what is happening with the mortgage lending crisis.

The activists want the bankers association and its members to agree on a set of best practices for lenders to prevent foreclosures and vacant homes around the country.

There have been no arrests.
