Abbott's smaller stent gets approval

LIBERTYVILLE TOWNSHIP -- Abbott Laboratories on Tuesday said it received European approval for a 2.25-millimeter version of its XIENCE V Everolimus Eluting Coronary Stent System, offering physicians a smaller stent. The smaller version of the XIENCE V stent will be launched immediately in most European markets and select countries in Asia and Latin America, the firm said.
