Dist. 220 stalwarts turn out for foundation

Even frigid February weather was no match for the more than 250 District 220 Educational Foundation supporters who attended the first Chili & Music Fest fundraiser, held Feb. 9 at the Millrose Restaurant and Brewing Co.

Conceived as an alternative to traditional fundraising, and a great way to stave off cabin fever, the evening featured casual attire, toe-tappin' music, and plenty of stick-to-your-ribs fare. By night's end, more than $37,000 had been raised to support projects and grants -- not otherwise covered by tax revenue -- that enhance and supplement learning in CUSD220's elementary, middle and high schools, as well as the greater community.

Our thanks to Event underwriter Catalyst Exhibits. Major donors were Barrington Bank and Trust Co.; Mrs. Frederica Pederson; Jim & Cindy Flannery; Kevin & Jan Gadbois; Tim & Paula Hermann; Katherine Logue & Jonathan Nyland; James & Sue Pajakowski; Stan & Chris Pepper; Craig & Joan Young; Countryside Industries; Daniel & Meg Donoghue; Pete & Stephanie Douglas; the Georgescu Girls; Mark & Jaimee Hamilton; Dr. & Mrs. Richard A.
