Popular show put on stage in April

CmJ Productions will present "High School Musical," based on a Disney Channel original movie.

School shows will be offered at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. April 18 and 24. Tickets range from $4 to $6. Schools shows are filled by reservation only.

Family shows will begin at 4 p.m. April 19 and 26.

Performances will be given at the Wixom Theatre, 1020 Glen Rock, Waukegan.

The cast features 70 adults and children from across the Chicago area including Gurnee, Grayslake, Wadsworth, Beach Park, Zion, Waukegan and Winthrop Harbor.

Dance festival to be held April 26-27

Dancenter North will present its first ever Chiwaukee Dance Festival on April 26 and April 27 at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan.

The festival will present two distinct performances, featuring professional dance companies as well as upcoming talent.

The gala performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. on April 26. This very special show will feature artists from professional dance companies from Milwaukee and Chicago, including the Joffrey Ballet, the Milwaukee Ballet, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Especially Tap Chicago, and The Cartier Collective.

At 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, there will be a Best of the Midwest Showcase, which will feature student, semi-professional, and college dance companies from throughout the area.

Tickets for The Chiwaukee Dance Festival go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. Ticket prices are as $30, $25, and $20 for the gala performance, and $15 general admission seating for the Best of the Midwest Showcase.
