Church to unveil new student center
Christ Community Church, a 24-year-old church with locations in St. Charles, DeKalb, and Aurora, will hold the grand opening of The Hub at the St. Charles campus.
The Hub is a brand new 20,000-square-foot addition to the church facility that will exclusively be used by and for students.
The Hub will offer gaming areas including billiard tables, foosball, air hockey, Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation, and commercial arcade games. In addition to the gaming areas, a cafe and lounge area have been constructed to accommodate 300 students. Construction is finishing on a 400-seat auditorium, but the rest of the facility will open on Friday.
Pete Sutton, middle school pastor, and his middle school staff will be the first group to use The Hub at 7:30 p.m. Friday as they celebrate the grand opening with a night of gaming, karaoke, music, food and drinks, giveaways, and tournaments.
On Sunday 6:45 p.m., the high school grand opening will feature Wii tournaments, pool and foosball games, catered food, break dancers and a live DJ. A professional BMX team will also be performing.
There is no fee for either celebration.
