Car accident on I-355

Two Aurora women were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove following a car accident Thursday on Interstate 355, south of the North Avenue overpass near Lombard, authorities said. Their injuries were not believed to be life threatening. The two women, who were in a yellow Suzuki, were rear-ended by a red Dodge, authorities said. A 38-year-old Round Lake Beach man, who was driving the Dodge, received a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. A southbound lane on Interstate 355 was closed for about 20 minutes and held up traffic around 5 p.m., authorities said.
