Politicians adding to the tax burden

Our politicians, both state and federal, seem to worry and talk about the poor people of this country. I have to wonder if they are serious because these are the same people who can't wait to raise taxes and increase costs to taxpayers by putting unworkable restrictions on small and big businesses.

Look at all the companies that have left the state because of new restrictions placed on them. On a local level, we have people raffling off their homes to try to stay out of bankruptcy because of high property taxes. The county has looked at double-taxing drivers with an added vehicle sticker because they do not know how to handle a budget. These same politicians have managed to make the problems of people I do not even know my problems, because I am required to help pay for their mistakes. The subprime loan debacle for instance.

I think if these politicians stop worrying about the poor and worry about the job they were elected to do, we would all be better off and not as poor. When are property taxes going to stop going up? These taxes are forcing seniors out of their homes and into the poor house. Who is responsible for this? I would not do this to some of my worst enemies, and our governments do this to us on a regular basis.

I for one have had enough and want our politicians to act in a responsible manner. Our country is on the verge of a recession and everyone wants to get a quick increase in taxes. Are there any politicians at all who will actually help us and not just give lip service to win an election?
