Report: Number of anti-Semitic incidents in Ill. falls 62.5 percent in '07

The Anti-Defamation League says the number of anti-Semitic incidents in Illinois dropped 62.5 percent last year.

The group released its annual "Audit of Anti-Semitic Incidents" on Wednesday.

The report says 21 incidents of vandalism, harassment and other acts were reported in Illinois in 2007, down from 56 incidents the year before.

Of the 21 incidents, 13 involved harassment, while eight were acts of vandalism against public schools, college campuses and a cemetery.

Nationally, the number of anti-Semitic incidents declined 13 percent from 2006.
