False kidnap alleged
Prosecutors have charged a 24-year-old father with felony disorderly conduct after he told police his 2-year-old son was inside a car stolen from a gas station, but the child was really at home. Iris Talley of Chicago was charged Tuesday and held pending a bond hearing Wednesday. The car was stolen from the gasoline station late Monday on Chicago's South Side. Talley is on parole for a narcotics conviction. Talley left the vehicle running while inside the gas station when an offender allegedly hopped into the car and headed west from the station. That's when police say Talley made the false kidnapping report. The vehicle was subsequently recovered. The offender who stole the vehicle remains at large.
