Passage of state capital bill overdue

As many people have seen, many young people have been invigorated by Obama's run for president. I am no exception. For a minute though, I want to turn attention to what is going on in our state capital. Illinois has not passed a capital bill in almost 10 years. As bridges collapse in other states, will Illinois follow?

Many of our highways are aging and areas like Lake County and McHenry County have seen a need for more classrooms to ease overcrowding. We need a capital bill and now!

I was encouraged by the governor's efforts to open the discussion in a non-combative way and to seek possible solutions. Our leaders need to leave the past behind and work for our futures. Obama's presidency gives me hope at the national level. Now, we need to see that there is hope for our future at home.
