The many faces of Mr. Glenbard East

There are many things a teenager will do for an iPhone.

Wearing wacky costumes, dressing in summer wear, displaying a talent, answering spontaneous questions, dressing in formal wear and parading on stage before an audience are among them.

Those are the tasks set before boys vying for the title of Mr. Glenbard East for the second year in a row.

And of the 10 contestants -- all seniors -- Ryan Valencia performed the skills better than the others.

The event serves as a fundraiser, and this year the Lombard school selected the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Two former students plan to participate in the walk to honor their mother, another former student, who died from the disease in January.

The school raised a total of $2,000 to contribute toward their efforts.
