Meijer recalls 2,184 pounds of frozen entrees
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Meijer Incorporated is voluntarily recalling more than 2,000 pounds of frozen entrees from stores in four states, including Illinois.
The Michigan retailer says federal officials notified it Friday that testing showed possible contamination with listeria. That's a microorganism that can cause illness or death.
No illnesses have been reported. Meijer also pulled the product from shelves in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.
The recall affects 12-ounce packages of Discover Cuisine Red Curry Chicken and Jasmine Rice. The packages have a Canadian establishment number of 302 on the front and "use by" date of Dec. 18, 2008.
The entrees may be returned for a refund or exchange.
