Wake up from the Obama trance now

The hypnotic allure of this Chance Gardener, the "Being There" character, is playing out all over America in Barack Obama's bid for president.

The senator from Illinois has done little for Illinois since he was elected, due to the fact that he began his first day in office running for president.

His undeniable appeal has left audiences and the media enthralled all across the country.

It has been reported that he instructs his campaign staff not to discuss issues but rather their feelings about when they were first inspired by him.

Well, I would like to express my "feelings" about his "issues."

In a post-9/11 world, he has voted against several bills that were put in place and have successfully kept this country safe for over six years.

He voted "no" for FBI wire taps and surveillance outside the U.S. He voted "no" on extending the Patriot Act's wiretap provision.

He voted "yes" on preserving habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees. (That would make our attorneys and courts available to the Taliban.) He voted "no" on presidential power for secret surveillance.

He voted "yes" for young women registering for the draft.

He voted "no" on going into Iraq, but vowed to go into Pakistan to get bin Laden?

He recommends a type of non-threatening persuasion of terrorists to acquire information.

He believes we can negotiate with Islamic extremists around the world.

He touts that the American taxpayers should bail out homeowners who have purchased homes beyond their means.

When Obama eloquently chants, "Keep the past in the past and look to the future for change," I shudder to think what damage this charlatan and his socialist agenda could do if he were given the keys to this kingdom.

When I snap my fingers, America, wake up from your trance.
