St. Patrick's Church in St Charles will host its annual Shamrock Shuffle March 8 at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St. in St. Charles.

Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., dinner is at 7 p.m. and dancing goes to 11 p.m. There will also be a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle.

• St. Peter Church is accepting donations for the annual barn sale at the Campana building at the corner of Fabyan Parkway and Route 31 in Batavia. The barn sale is scheduled for Sept. 20 and 21 at the Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles.

Donations can be dropped off between 8:30 a.m. and noon March 22 and April 19. After April 19, donations will be accepted every Saturday through August.

Pick-up service for large household items or furniture is available in Geneva, St. Charles and Batavia. All items are subject to inspection.

Youth ministry

Urban Youth Ministry of Wayside Cross Ministries will host the annual friendship dinner at 6 p.m. March 29 with guest speaker Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, celebrated Notre Dame football hero, at the Harkness Family Center, 60 S. Fourth St., Aurora. Urban Youth Ministry works with at-risk youth and children.

The cost is $20 per person and $160 for a table.
