Fire ravages Aurora duplex
A fire in a duplex apartment building on the 1400 block of Andover Drive caused about $400,000 worth of damage, Aurora fire officials said Friday. Battalion Chief Ken Krieghbaum said the fire started in a utility room, carried up the walls and destroyed the structure. He said no one was home at the time and no fire fighters were injured in the blaze. Krieghbaum said witnesses saw smoke in the duplex and phone the fire department about 2:30 p.m. He said officials witnessed heavy smoke in the building when arriving on the scene.
