Briefs: Eight cars burglarized
Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information on a series of burglaries to vehicles in the city, authorities said Friday. Three vehicles were burglarized between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 8 while parked in the Naperville Central High School gravel parking lot on the 700 block of South West Street. On Feb. 11, another vehicle was burglarized nearby in the garden plot parking lot on the 800 block of South West Street. On Feb. 19, four more vehicles were burglarized in the Central lot. In all cases forced entry was made to the vehicles and stereo equipment was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006. Callers may remain anonymous.
Baby massage class starts
Lombard Elementary District 44 is offering a free class in baby massage for residents that runs weekly and starts Wednesday. The sessions are held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. March 12, 19 and 26 at Hammerschmidt School, 617 Hammerschmidt, Lombard, and taught by Esperanza Lee, a licensed massage therapist. Pregnant moms and parents with babies through pre-walking age will learn the value of touch through baby massage. This class is funded by a grant from the Illinois State Board of Education. COD offering free tax help
DuPage County residents can get free tax assistance from students in accounting classes at the College of DuPage through April 12. Faculty members supervise students as they help residents with forms 1040 IL, 1040 and Schedules A-B. They also handle Schedule C-EZ and small schedule D's (three items or less). This free service is offered from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays in the college's Student Resource Center, Room 3687. The students will not provide service on March 22. Glenbard teacher honored
Glenbard East High School physical education teacher John Caputo received an Excellence in Teaching Award from the West Suburban Physical Education Department Chair Association. He was recognized for his work developing the Peer Tutor Program for the assisted physical education classes at Glenbard East in Lombard.
