Be sensitive with story placement
I was very saddened while reading about the Fugate family (Feb. 24, section 3, page 1), that when the story continued on page 3, it was right next to the "movers and shakers".
Having been where this family is, I know the shame and embarrassment that comes from selling to avoid foreclosure. However, I was spared having my story being in the local paper right next to people who have achieved a level of success few can attain.
I would think that a little sensitivity would have been appropriate, like maybe having the story run on a different page from the listing of who's become the latest vice president of XYZ Company!
Do you think the Fugates really care about that kind of news, when they are struggling to even find a home?
I really appreciate your ongoing story on foreclosure in this area; we were affected by it (through a job loss) before it became a national headline.
My heart goes out to the Fugates, and the thousands like them, who are faced with such hard decisions.
