New trustee in North Barrington

A North Barrington plan commissioner has been tapped as the village's newest trustee.

Trustees approved the appointment Wednesday of Camille Koertner to the village board. She replaces Rick Contorno, who resigned last month.

As a longtime plan commission member, Koertner will bring a lot of experience to the board, Village President Bruce Sauer said.

"She has been extremely dedicated to that position," Sauer said.

Koertner could not be immediately reached for comment.

Besides Koertner being well-respected in the community, Sauer said he likes having representation on the board from the Wynstone subdivision, where she lives.

"It was just a good, logical choice," Sauer said.

Contorno stepped down nearly three years into his first term because he's moving out of town.

Koertner will join Jane Farrell as the second woman on the board, which Sauer believes is a good thing.

"I like having another female voice on the board," Sauer said.

Sauer said Koertner will immediately begin serving on the board and is expected to be at March's regularly scheduled meeting.
