Wolves keep rolling behind Pavelec
SAN ANTONIO -- Forwards Jordan LaVallee and Jason Krog each scored twice, and goaltender Ondrej Pavelec posted a career-high 42 saves as the Chicago Wolves defeated the San Antonio Rampage 5-1 at the AT&T Center on Wednesday night for their 10th win in 11 games.
Pavelec (24-9-0) did not allow a goal until there were 35 seconds remaining in the game, while picking up his ninth win in his last 10 starts. He has surrendered only 11 goals during that span. The 20-year-old leads rookies and ranks second overall in the AHL with 24 wins.
The Wolves shares the overall AHL lead with 41 victories and sit atop the West Division and Western Conference with 84 points, the most in team history through 55 games.
The Wolves scored a season-high 4 first-period goals to take command.
