Fishing report: Winter is back with a vengeance, and the fish are cooperating.

Fox Chain: Crappie fishing is excellent on Petite Lake. Check the 10-15 foot depths and use small minnows under slip-floats. The walleye action on Petite is also good during mid-evening hours. Channel Lake bluegills are on a feeding frenzy in 6 feet of water.

Bangs Lake: Decent bluegill action on the north side right outside the weeds.

Lake Michigan: Fair to good perch action at Montrose through the ice.
