History shows guns aren't the problem

The recent attacks on the Second Amendment by the anti-constitutional gun banners are predictable.

Those who want to ban guns as a result of these despicable shootings are actually the cause of the problem.

By blaming guns, they take the light away from what is really causing these episodes.

It is a very easy argument to prove. Guns had been available virtually without restriction until the late 1960s.

When I was a kid, I could walk into Sears, J.C. Penney or the True Value Hardware store and buy a gun.

My friends took shotguns to school and checked them with the principal and hunted pheasant on the way home.

No one ever got shot. Since guns have been so widely available for so long and nothing like these school shootings ever happened until very recently, wouldn't common sense tell you that guns are not the problem?

Here's the problem.

Parents allow their kids to watch the most vile and disgusting televisions programs.

They allow their kids to play hyper violent and pornographic video games.

And then you have the nerve to want to take my rights away because you can't control your kids.

Parents today want to be their kids' friends instead of their parents. The media are also to blame.

How can you say guns are the problem when they have been so available for over 200 years with no school shootings until the last 20?
