More salt on the way for Rolling Meadows

The Rolling Meadows city council approved buying an additional 250 tons of salt at Tuesday's city council meeting. The total cost of the extra salt is $31,750. The extra salt should last through the winter, said Fred Vogt, Rolling Meadows' Director of Public Work. Typically Rolling Meadows uses about 2,500 tons of salt per winter. So far, the city has gone through more than 3,000 tons, Vogt said.
