Club based on popular book returns

The Barnes & Noble in Spring Hill Mall will host another round of The Dangerous Boys Club Saturday.

Based on the best-selling "The Dangerous Book for Boys" by the brothers Conn and Hal Iggulden, it is for parents and teachers who are looking for ways to keep boys engaged in reading and hands-on activities.

The Dangerous Boys Club will hold a "March into Battle" theme at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Spring Hill Mall Barnes & Noble at 1468 Spring Hill Mall Blvd., West Dundee. The program is geared for boys, age 8 to 12.

In World War II, the Marines used the Navajo language for carrying mission specs in the Pacific. This month, boys learn how to interpret Navajo messages and will have fun discovering the great battles of history.

The Dangerous Book for Boys is the best-selling book for every boy from 8 to 80, covering essential boyhood skills such as building tree houses, learning how to fish, and finding true north. In this digital age, there is still a place for knots, skimming stones and stories of incredible courage. The book recaptures Sunday afternoons, stimulates curiosity, and makes for great father/son activities you can enjoy right at your local Barnes & Noble.
