Resident input sought
Mundelein residents are being asked to give their opinions and ideas for playground equipment improvements for Indian Trails and Wilderness parks. A community open house regarding the projects will be at 7 p.m. March 5 at the Mundelein Park and Recreation District's community center, 1401 N. Midlothian Road. Residents can review photos and speak with district staff. Residents can tour the Park View Health and Fitness Center, following the event. Friends of Cook to meet
The Friends of Cook Memorial Library District are looking for new members. Those interested in joining are asked to attend a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the lower level meeting room of Cook Memorial Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. New computer policy
Patrons at the Vernon Area Public Library in Lincolnshire must now reserve public-access computers. Only Vernon Area cardholders are able to register for the computers. Three express computers in the lobby can be used by any patron, but use is limited to 15-minute sessions.
Sign up for summer school
Lincolnshire-Prairie View Elementary District 103 will introduce an online registration system for summer school with a registration window beginning at 8 a.m. March 4 and closing at noon March 19. Parents may register via the District 103 Web site at: www.district103.k12.il.us; under the "District Information" tab, parents should select "Summer School" and "Register for Classes." Payment must be provided at the time of registration by following the prompts. Parents without access to a computer may request to use one at no charge by calling any one of the District 103 schools and making arrangements during school hours.
Stevenson dean leaving
Stevenson High School Dean of Students Amy Read has accepted a new position as principal of Mead Junior High School in Elk Grove Village. She will start her new job in the fall. Before becoming dean at Stevenson, Read was a teacher and coach at the Lincolnshire school as well as algebra team leader and co-director of the freshman mentor program. She's been at the school since 1996.
