Could tragedy have been averted?

What a tragedy it was to read of the Valentine's Day shooting massacre at Northern Illinois University, which took the lives of five young adults with promising futures ahead of them.

We all grieve along with those who have lost loved one. The healing process will be a long and difficult one. It seems reasonable to ask, "What if?"

Twelve states are considering bills that would allow people with concealed-weapons permit to carry guns at public universities, sparked by the Virginia Tech massacre last April.

It only makes sense to ponder a scenario where a student in the lecture hall carrying a legally concealed weapon would have been able to plug the shooter before he snuffed out so many young lives.
