Guns do too kill people; ban them

It's true we need more effective people in government and background checks. However, the old adage that it's not guns that kill, but people, is a crock.

Tell me what citizen needs or should be allowed to purchase four guns in a six-month period? Or four guns, period? Why was this allowed and why wasn't a cross-check done on this? And how was a person with a history of mental illness allowed to purchase guns? And why was a person allowed to purchase such amounts of ammo online? Or anywhere, for that matter? What is going on?

I am sick of these pro-guns advocates citing the right and necessity of normal citizens bearing arms. Exactly where does this get us? The NIU tragedy and the others before it clearly show what it gets us.

Guns do kill. Tragedies such as NIU would not happen if it weren't for guns.

We simply don't need to have our citizens bearing arms in this manner. There is a strong and urgent need for tighter laws.
