Canasta

First place in triple play canasta Feb. 14 went to Zinny Macaione and Jim Boncler with a score of 87,665 points.

Duplicate bridge

Playing duplicate bridge Feb. 15, Ann and Pat Danna captured first place for north-south, while Marilyn Bailey and John Papaleo took first place for east-west. Other top finishers for north-south were Charlotte Irvine and Nancy Riley, second place; Teri and John Hutson, third, and Ann Durgin and Irma Lee, fourth. For east-west, Sandy Johnson and Fran Logan came in second, Fred Perschke and Loren Price, third; and Nancy and Wally Carlson, fourth.

First place for duplicate bridge on Feb. 11 wound with Kay Burdan and Grace Selby tying with Shirley Bruns and Irene Crawford.

Contract bridge

John Papaleo scored 5,280 points to take first place in contract bridge Feb. 13. Ann Danna came in second with 4,730. Walt Figge placed third with 4,690. Betty Smith came in fourth with 4,530. Fifth place went to Paul Shumate with 4,490. Loren Stuvick came in sixth with 3,980 and Marie Nugent placed seventh with 3,940.

Winning contract bridge pairs play Feb. 12, Walt Figge and Loren Stuvick scored 4,140 points. Geri and Larry Dale were second with 3,470. Bill Macomb and Jan Zimmerman scored 3,450 to place third. Ann and Pat Danna took fourth place with 3,380.

Bridge invitational

Winning the Sun City American Contract Bridge League invitational Feb. 16 were Donnel Brosseau and John Diehl playing north-south and Mike Elliott and Robert Heuel for east-west.

North-south runners-up were Ron Schwarz and Jay Kadakia, second; Betty Smith and Irene Crawford, third, and Susan Mackinney and Julia Worden, fourth. For east-west, Mary Ann Harju and Jan Koerner placed second, while Carol Smith and Janice Apel were third. Doris Survant and Edna Williams tied with Marie Nugent and John Papaleo for fourth place.

Pinochle

High score in morning session pinochle Feb. 11 was Tom Fleming with 628 points. Jerry Pajak took the low score of 414. John Petras took a double pinochle. Playing all-trick hands were Marge Adolfson, Don Glasgow, DeWayne Klein, and Dick Wagner. There was no round house.

In the afternoon session, Earl Mueller was high scorer with 621. Dick Galassi scored low with 405. David Stuckmeyer took a double pinochle. There were no all-tricks or a round house.

Euchre

Don Glasgow took first place in euchre Feb. 14 with a score of 59. Second place went to Nancy Morbeck with 58. Sid Sorensen took third place with 55. Jeanne Boddy was fourth with 51.

Cribbage

A score of 481 gave Bob Mis first place in cribbage Feb. 13. Bill Hernke followed in second place with 473. Playing high individual hands were Ralph Wehnes and Jerry Jarvis, each with 24, Sue Chiodo, 21, and Mis and Tom Fleming, 20. There were four skunks.

Bowling

Standings of the Sun City Bowling League at Brunswick Zone, Algonquin as of Feb. 6 have the Heat in first place with a 38-11 record. The Suns were second with 36-13. Taking third place were the Warriors with 34-15. The Bucks placed fourth with 31-18. In women's individual high scores Joan Olsen took high game scratch with 192 and high game with handicap, 246. Carole Feliccia played high series scratch, 504, and high series with handicap, 642. In men's high scoring, John Sala played high game scratch, 211, high series scratch, 603, and high series with handicap, 696. Jerry Rubinberg and Jim Culotta tied for high game with handicap at 247.
