Robbery suspect arrested

A man suspected of robbing 10 banks in the Chicago area and northwest Indiana, and earning the nickname "the Kangol bandit," has been arrested. According to the FBI, 57-year-old Edward Eason of Chicago was arrested last week in suburban Lansing. The FBI coined the Kangol bandit nickname because of the trademarked hat the robber wore during the crimes, which authorities said started in November. Authorities say Eason was charged in connection with the Nov. 29 robbery of a Charter One Bank branch in Chicago. The FBI said he also is suspected in three other robberies.
