Field, Twain schools on honor roll

Two Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 schools were given Spotlight Schools awards by the State Board of Education in January. The school board announced Thursday that both Field and Twain Elementary schools met the criteria laid out by the state for the 2007 Illinois Honor Roll including: having an enrollment of at least 50 percent low-income students, 60 percent of students meeting or exceeding math and reading standards in 2007, 50 percent meeting or exceeding those same standards in 2005 and 2006, and the whole school making adequate yearly progress in 2006 and 2007.
