Family gives back dog
A South suburban family has relinquished custody of a Siberian husky to a Tennessee couple during an arbitration hearing. The move ended a yearlong quest by Chip and Karen McGee of Murfreesboro to regain custody of the dog. Amid tears at the Bridgeview courthouse, the two sides agreed Tuesday the dog belonged to the McGees. The father of the Palos Park family said afterward they are devastated to lose custody of the dog they had named Willow. He said their loss might have been avoided if they had known when they adopted her she had been stolen. Ginger was abducted in 2006 by a neighbor of the McGees.
