Bet big bucks to benefit Palatine American Legion

Palatine American Legion Post 690 hosts a Texas Hold 'Em Poker Benefit from 4 p.m. to midnight Friday at the post hall, 122 W. Palatine Road. Featured will be cash tables, tournament tables and door prizes.

The event will benefit Legion and community programs, including veterans homes and hospitals, Palatine Township food pantry, needy families, nursing education, school awards and scholarships, Legion baseball, boys state, girls state, scouting, police and fire academies.

Games are run by volunteers from the American Legion and the Palatine Jaycees under the Illinois Charitable Games License CG-1824. Food and libations will be available.
