New Northwestern University music building

Northwestern University has announced construction of a new $90 million music building that will have the latest technology and a 400-seat recital hall. The 116,000-square foot building on the Evanston campus will consolidate all the programs in the university's School of Music. Construction on the suburb's waterfront is set to be completed in 2012. The building will have classrooms, teaching labs, offices, studios, a library, an opera rehearsal room and a recital hall. The School of Music's dean says it's a momentous occasion and the building will strengthen the position of the university.
