Walgreens' Gleeson to retire Feb. 29

DEERFIELD -- Walgreens Tuesday said senior vice president and Chief Strategy Officer John W. Gleeson, 61, is retiring on Feb. 29 after more than 45 years with the company. He started as a stock clerk in 1962. He later served in other leadership roles, including vice president of corporate strategy and treasurer. He was named to his current position in 2007. Robert G. Zimmerman, 56, vice president of corporate development, will lead the strategy group.
