Missing 93-year-old woman found dead in Will County

Will County sheriff's deputies found a missing 93-year-old woman from Country Club Hills dead in her car in a field in New Lenox Township.

Mildred Weaver was reported missing by her family on Friday. Country Club Hills spokeswoman Wanda Comein says Weaver died of exposure to cold temperatures.

Will County sheriff's deputies found Weaver early Monday. Comein says the woman had intended to drive to a doctor's appointment in Orland Park on Friday.

Sheriff's spokesman Pat Barry says investigators aren't sure how she ended up in the field, but they believe she had gotten stuck there. Barry says it appears Weaver drove into the field thinking it was a road, or was trying to turn around.
