Drop-in hockey at Palatine rink

Hat Trick Hockey at 647 Consumers Ave in Palatine will hold a drop-in hockey day for inline skaters from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

Participants should bring their own equipment, and can play either on skate or foot. Admission is $5.

Discuss alternative views at church

The public is invited to a discussion of agnosticism, humanism and atheism at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Countryside Unitarian Universalist Church, 1025 N. Smith Road, Palatine. The meeting will be held in Room 6, accessible from the north door.

There will be a review of "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins, and participants will be able to view a DVD presentation of the book. Admission is free, and all comments are welcome.

Talk rain gardens at Vehe Farm

Citizens for Conservation will hold this year's second community/adult education program from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Vehe Farm, 23570 W. Cuba Road, Deer Park.

Roger Bannerman of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources presents an instructive program on rain gardens, discussing how they can benefit a residence or business property.
