Kids can learn about amphibians at Dundee Township library

Break the cycle of freezing temperatures, snow and ice with an early taste of spring as the Dundee Township Public Library Children's Department hosts a special event called "Frogs, Toads and Salamanders."

On Monday (a school holiday), Randy Korb will bring his educational show on amphibians, including Snappy the Salamander, to the library's meeting room from 2 to 3 p.m.

Children in kindergarten and older can get acquainted with native frogs, toads and salamanders of Illinois. They will be able to hold, feed and listen to them. Free tickets will be given out 30 minutes prior to the program.

The Dundee Township Public Library is at 555 Barrington Ave. in East Dundee. For details, call (847) 428-3661 or visit www.dundeelibrary.info.
