Auction today offers collectors chance to bid on 2,800 dolls

Prigge Auctions of Elgin will conduct an auction of 2,800 dolls belonging to a longtime Downers Grove collector at 10 a.m. today at the Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles.

Owner Mary Voigt had all of her dolls staged and displayed throughout her four-bedroom home for many years and decided last summer to auction them in advance of her moving to a condominium.

Madame Alexander, Lenci, Effanbee, Barbie and Ginny dolls are just a part of this massive ensemble.

"These dolls are in collector condition and the auction has already created some excitement in the Midwest doll circles," John Prigge said.
