Something Obama, Clinton should fear

Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are worried that the Republicans will use Swift Boat-style criticism against them in the fall 2008 campaign. They have every right to be worried.

In the 2004 election, 254 Swift Boat Veterans of Vietnam signed a letter saying John Kerry was not fit to be commander in chief. All the officers in the chain of command above Kerry and 60 of the Swift Boat Veterans who actually served with Kerry signed the letter. They contradicted Kerry's claims about the minor scratches that won him Purple Hearts and his questionable accounts that won him a Bronze Star and a Silver Star. These veterans were telling the truth, and it was Kerry who insulted all veterans who served in Vietnam by his propaganda activities in the service of North Vietnam.

Swift Boating means to expose the lies candidates have told and shine the light of truth on their records. No wonder Hillary and Obama are worried about being Swift Boated.
