We should get out of Iraq war now

The recent article titled "Poll Finds Many see Progress in Iraq Security" talked about how many people think the U.S. is making progress in Iraq and will eventually be able to claim some success there.

Our current plan is outrageous. First, we should not have even been in Iraq in the first place. Al-Qaida attacked us on 9-11, not Iraq, and we should have continued our efforts against them in Afghanistan.

Second, any time levels on troops deaths lower in any given month, claims of success come out. However, in the long run, this was has no planned end. We achieved the mission of getting rid of Saddam Hussein and tried to make democracy survive there. However, the fact remains, we invaded a country and are still there.

Month after month, year after year, the situation is pretty much the same and overall there has been nothing new. The future continues to be prolonged and no dates of troop withdrawal are evident. Pulling out of the war is the best course of action.
