Carter: Thanks to all my supporters
The best part of my campaign has been the energy and commitment from friends and supporters like you to help carry me through to Election Day.
To all my supporters and friends, I wish to express my gratitude and thanks for your words of encouragement, organizing fundraisers, walking door to door, putting up signs, writing letters to the editor and your financial support.
With Springfield moving up the primary election by 5 weeks, it was impossible for me to walk my entire district as I have always done in the past. It was wonderful talking to so many of you and at the same time I regret not being able to knock on everyone's door.
We ran a clean campaign based on long list of accomplishments and the voters came out and spoke! There are not adequate words to express my gratitude to everyone who supported me in the primary. Thank you for voting for me!
I look forward to continuing our work on issues that are important to you, your families and your quality of life. I deeply appreciate the privilege of serving you these past several years and I promise to continue that work in the years to come.
