Briefs: U-46 super survey results

Milwaukee-based ProAct Search Inc. will present the results of its recent superintendent search, which included community forums and focus groups, to the Elgin Area School District U-46 board at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Educational Services Center, 355 E. Chicago St., Elgin. The meeting is open to the public.

Huntley bank hosts tax talk

The Huntley Area Public Library will host a seminar on taxes from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at MidAmerica Bank in Huntley. Norman Wierer from Liberty Tax Service will talk about changes in the tax code, deductions and the earned income credit. You'll have the chance to ask questions at the end of the seminar. District OKs sports policy

The Community Unit District 300 school board has approved a new policy that will allow the district to add sports programs at the new Hampshire High School. The policy lays out the procedures and requirements for establishing a new sport at a school; the district did not previously have such a policy. District officials have said they plan to introduce new sports in the fall, including Hampshire High School's first wrestling program.
