Briefs: Dist. 15 bus vote delayed
Palatine Township Elementary District 15 tabled a vote Wednesday evening on bus schedules and school start times to tweak the proposal, district officials said. Supt. Robert McKanna said the district wants to make sure it's making the right changes, so it's still fine-tuning the plan. The board could vote on a final plan next month, he said. The school board has been discussing changes for the past several months. This year, the district changed school start times to either 7:55 a.m. or 8:45 a.m. This whittled the previous four-tier bus system to two tiers. Under a new proposal, buses would run on a three-tier system with varying start times. Some parents have been exasperated by the prospect of another change and earlier start times, but there have also been problems with the current system, including late buses.
