Ultimate Gymnastics: Katherine McKeon of Ultimate Gymnastics, a Level 8 gymnast in her first season with the Gurnee-based club, was first all-around in the 13+ age group and also took gold on uneven bars at the "To The Max" Classic meet held recently in Sugar Grove. She also took second place finishes on vault and beam. Teammate Anna Brandmeier continued her recent vault successes with gold at the meet and Lizzie Hoyer claimed the top spot on beam.
The Level 8 girls shared a session at the meet with their Level 7 teammates, and Brittany Moccia finished first in the all-around in the 12-14 age group. The Level 7 gymnast, who took gold at the St. Nick Invite at NIU before the holidays, also took first on beam. Teammate Krystal Kofoed won gold on floor, while in the younger age group, Ally Hoyer took silver on the same event with a 9.525.
Other highlights from the weekend's competition included a gold on vault for Level 9 gymnast Kelci Schulz. She also claimed silver on floor and in the all-around. Teammates Lauren Feely and Bianca Federico each took silver on vault and bars respectively. The Level 9 girls also celebrated a second place team finish.
In the Level 5 session, Emily Hudgins took silver on uneven bars and finished third all-around. Madeline Licocci finished third on bars scoring 9.225. The Level 5 girls also took a second place team award.
